THE green light has been given to spend £11,800 on new paths at Studley cemetery.
The decision, by the parish council, comes despite concerns for the financial position of the council, which has to find £3,000 after 10 residents called for a by-election following the resignation of one of its councillors.
The estimate for the paths has also gone up, rising from an initial estimate of £9,400.
However after going into a closed session to discuss the financial implications of the issue – the money will come from a separate, non-precept account – councillors agreed the work to go ahead as soon as possible after August.
