A REDDITCH pet-owner is urging dog-owners to take extra care her rescue ferret was killed in a park.
The lady, who wishes to remain anonymous, was walking her pet ferret on a harness in Arrow Valley Park in June when a dog not on a lead ran towards her and attacked the ferret.
The small animal was instantly killed by the loose dog and the concerned resident it urging all pet owners using parks to be vigilant.
She said: “I just want people to take responsibility for their own animals. It’s so upsetting to lose a loved pet in this way and I think people need to realise the importance of keeping their animals under control and on a lead – for their own safety as much as the safety of others.”
