RESIDENTS at a Redditch care home took a trip and said ‘bon voyage’ to the town when they embarked on a ‘virtual’ summer cruise to France.
On Monday, Brambles Residential Care Home in Birchfield Road hosted a themed French breakfast, with a selection of cheeses, breads, pastries and croissants – and even a sip of wine.
The event kick-started the home’s virtual summer cruise week, where residents ‘visited’ a different destination each day, including Spain, Italy, Greece and Egypt, sampling a different flavours from the different destinations, as well as learning more about the history of each country.
Activities leader Fiona Morsy said: “Our residents have been so excited about cruise week. They have been doing everything from eating amazing food from the different countries, playing French boules, watching a Spanish dancer to learning Arabic during our day in Egypt.
“They have really enjoyed it and have really got into the holiday spirit – and the food has gone down a treat.
