BLOOMING great frontages were hailed last week in Studley as the parish council announced the winners of its annual competition.
Judges were particularly impressed with Karen Parker’s and Keith York’s front garden, where, with the addition of potted plants and a be-decked bicycle they brought a real splash of colour to the busy road.
Runners up were Andrew and Philippa Woolerton and Mr and Mrs Roche while a clutch of commendations were also secured by keen gardeners.
The Best Commercial award went to The Royal Oak Public House on Alcester Road while Avenue Homes scooped Best Retail.
In the allotments category, the Best Overall Plot at Dunstall on Redditch Road was Alan Cale with John Bennett runner up. The new beds award, the J O’Brien Cup, was won by D Purchase.
Best overall plot on Station Road was won by Gerald Goodman, with Margaret Smith runner up. The Best Ladies Plot rose bowl was won by Ann Pill.
This year the Parish Council have introduce another cup for Best Overall Plot for Station Road which is sponsored by local Accounts + Help of Haydon House, Studley.
