STAND for boarding at Forge Mill Museum this summer as it sets sail on the ocean waves for a swashbuckling experience for the whole family.
Visitors can enjoy the museum’s latest exhibition – Pirates Fact or Fiction which runs until September 3.
It takes visitors on a journey through the golden age of pirates complete with fascinating facts about the ships they sailed and the lives these rogues lived.
The exhibition will also feature costumes from TV and film as well as historical reproductions.
Plus there will also be a treasure hunt trail for budding bounty hunters to try.
As well as the exhibition, there will be a special Pirate Weekend on July 29 to 30 as well as sailor knot and rope work demonstrations, shanty singing and a blacksmithing demonstration.
This event runs from 11am to 4pm.
Throughout the summer, the museum will be hosting other pirate themed events including Pirate Lego workshops, inter-active pirate food demonstrations, Pirate Science workshops and Condensed History Pirate Shows.e
