IT promises to be blooming lovely in Studley on September 2 as the village marks the 70th anniversary of its annual flower show.
Featuring beautiful blooms, splendid vegetables and tasty jams, tarts and cakes, the event, at Studley Sports & Social Club, is a popular fixture on the local calendar.
It was first started by members of the local fire service but after the closure of the fire station struggled to find a new home and impetus.
However now, under the chairmanship of former retained firefighter Des Crow, it’s as popular and lively as ever.
As well as produce and baked goods on display there will also be a tombola, raffle, various stalls plus face painting.
The club is off Eldorado Close and it will be open for entries from 10.30am on the day with the show opening at 12.30pm, before closing with the usual grand charity auction which last year raised more than £850 for local good causes.
