Make a real splash with the Redditch Colour Run and help boost charity

THE ANNUAL Bright For Sight Colour Run takes place at Arrow Valley Country Park, Redditch, on September 10.

The 5K run or walk, which begins at 11am, challenges participants to ‘Go Bright for Sight’ and become a colour runner, whilst raising money for Sight Concern Worcestershire.

Starting off dressed in white, participants can run, jog, walk or dance their way through the Paint Stations until everyone is fully covered in paint and – hopefully – smiles by the time they reach the finish line.

The charity’s Fiona Blake said: “We have such wonderful memories from last year, we can’t wait to set about painting even more people red, blue, green and purple as they pass through our Paint Stations en route.

“We’re delighted that Hayward Wright, Specsavers Redditch and Modus, are joining us again as sponsors and we are thrilled to welcome Southco and Midland Plumbing Supplies who are sponsoring our T-shirts and Race Arch.”

Visually impaired people are also encouraged to take part with a sighted guide, and the event is open to all ages.

Runners are urged to raise as much money as possible for Sight Concern Worcestershire, which supports the blind and partially sighted to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Alistair Hayward-Wright said: “We all look forward to this annual event and we couldn’t think of a better way to support our local community and a cause which is very close to our hearts. Our staff can’t wait to get involved and so as well as manning our Paint Station, the Hayward Wright team will participate in the run itself.”

Entry is £13 for adults, £8.50 for students, £7.50 for children and £33 for a family of four. This will not only cover the cost of the event, but funds will also go straight to the charity itself.
