YOUNG Chloe Fishbourne has stars in her eyes after stunning the crowd at a music festival by bursting into song – at the tender age of ten.
Chloe had gone to the Sunshine Festival in Upton on Severn over the Bank Holiday weekend with her mum Laura when, inspired by the acts, she suddenly decided she wanted to get up on stage and sing too.
“I didn’t think for a second they would let me, but we asked one of the organisers and he asked her to sing for him, which she did, and he said, ‘okay, up you get,” said Laura.
“She’s very confident – she’s been doing drama since she was four years old, acting and singing, and up she went and burst into song.”
The affect on the crowd was immediate – the schoolgirl from Studley sang ‘Shape of You’ by Ed Sheeran and the 30 or 40 people there suddenly swelled as more than 200 rushed over to listen.
They weren’t alone either as two BBC journalists from Radio Hereford & Worcester also heard her and asked Laura if they could have the video she’d shot of Chloe’s performance.
This in turn led to more than 3,000 hits on the station’s Facebook page and an invitation to join presenter and former Redditch resident Malcolm Boyden on his radio programme on Tuesday morning.
“It was brilliant, and she did another song while we were there. I thought it’s her 15 minutes of fame, who knows if it will come back so grab it while you can,” said Laura.
However at first she was non-plussed where Chloe, a big fan of Ariana Grande, gets her talent from.
“Her uncle is a musician and has always been part of a band and does a lot of singing, and I told my dad and he said his father also sang, so it could be that.”
