A NATIONAL tour which aims to spread awareness and understanding of dementia stopped off in Wythall to offer free information to residents.
Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Community Roadshow visited Beckett’s Farm last Friday where staff and volunteers offered free advice to anyone with queries about the condition, as well as helping to promote the benefits of an early diagnosis.
The event was organised with help from Wythall Parish Council and was supported by Phoenix Group along with Age UK.
Gill Read from Alzheimer’s Society, said: “By going out into places such as Wythall we have spoken to people that may not have been aware of the local services and support that is currently available.”
Wythall’s next event will be a pop up dementia café and information event at The Hub, Woodrush Leisure Centre on October 19 from 2pm to 4pm.
