RACHAEL ROLLISSON, director and head coach of Midlands-based Jump Rope UK, is running a coaching course at Arrow Valley Health Club next month.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 21 between 10.20am-1.30pm and is open to anyone wanting to start a team up and teachers.
Rachael explained: “We are trying to tackle the West Midlands area and people who are interested in adding skipping to their PE sessions or joining one of our school competitions.
“We will offer a 25 per cent discount to teachers. The course is £60 plus £5 hall hire fee.
“Jump Rope UK are really trying to hit the West Midlands area by going back to the grassroots of jump rope in schools.”
In what is a busy end to the year, Rachael is also spearheading the British Team and Masters Championships at Stratford Leisure Centre on Saturday, November 18.
“This is the first time in a few years it has been organised in our area, so we are hoping for lots of spectators. We also have international competitors from Hungary and Belgium attending,” added Rachael.
Looking ahead to 2018, Rachael is urging youngsters to get involved in school competitions.
The first event is a West Midlands school competition held in Worcestershire, for which a date is still to be confirmed, and is predominantly for primary school aged children featuring individual events and a school versus school contest, followed by an hour-long workshop led by a top UK coach.
