HUNDREDS of visitors flocked to Feckenham over the weekend to see more than 50 scarecrow exhibits and creations.
The twelth annual Scarecrow Weekend in the village saw a variety of strawfolk and creatures on display, from Minions and sea creatures, to school children and DJs.
After a tense count on Sunday afternoon the runaway winner was named as ‘Piddler on the Roof’ designed and built by Pat and Alan Moore with Ski Crow and Quick Quick Sand Crow as second and third.
here were also prizes and certificates for the under 12’s won by groups of children at Feckenham First School. Top was ‘Peter Pan and Tinkerbelle ‘, followed by ‘Michael’ and Octocrow in second and third place.
Guests could use a specially made map to follow the scarecrow trail, with all proceeds from map sales and refreshments going to cover the event costs and village activities.
A spokesperson for the event said: “It was a terrific success despite the weather and we’d like to thank everyone who volunteered, constructed the amazingly imaginative scarecrows and visited the village to join in the fun.”
