REDDITCH’S annual Firework Spectacular is returning to the town for more fantastic displays.
On November 2 at the Arrow Valley Country Park, there will be a funfair at 6pm followed by local entertainment from 6.30pm.
A fabulous firework display will begin at 7.30pm and the evening will end with more entertainment.
Coun Pat Witherspoon, whose portfolio covers Leisure Services, said: “The clocks will be going back next weekend which means darker evenings and the perfect seasonal backdrop for the most spectacular event of the year! Grab your gloves, hat and scarf and get ready for a free, fun and family friendly firework spectacular to enjoy – whatever the weather!”
The event is free but the food concession stands and Wilson’s funfair will charge.
Just like last year there will be disabled parking at the Battens Drive entrance. There will also be a free park and ride service operated by Diamond.
The park and ride will run from Moons Moat Drive near the event parking on Merse Road. The drop off point will be at the underpass on Paper mill drive, which is a short walk from the event.
Diamond buses will go to the event from 5.45pm. A bus will then depart every 15 minutes until the last pick up time at 7pm – just in time for the fireworks. Return trips will start at 8.15pm and run every 15 minutes until the last bus at 9.15pm.
A small section of road on Battens Drive will be closed in both directions for a distance of approximately 311 metres from its junction with Hopyard Lane to its junction with Padgets Lane between 6pm and 9pm.
Pet owners across the borough are also being given the annual reminder to be responsible and keep pets indoors on bonfire night.
