AN elderly woman has been left injured and shaken after thieves kicked down her front door and stole jewellery from her home in Hollywood.

Between 6.30am and 7am on September 5, two men broke into the house on Hollywood Lane, Hollywood by kicking open the front door.

A brooch and necklace were stolen in what police have called a “distressing incident”, with a woman in her 90s suffering a minor injury that was checked over and treated by paramedics.

Detectives investigating the burglary have today released an image of a van that was seen in the area at the time and would like to hear from anyone who recognises it.

DC Graeme Erskine of Worcestershire Crime Team said: “I’d like to reassure the community that incidents like this are rare in the area, and thankfully no serious injuries were caused.

“It’s an understandably distressing ordeal for the victim and investigations are on going in our efforts to identify the offenders.”

One of the men is just under 6′ tall, of medium build with quite dark skin and a short black beard. He was wearing a hooded top, possibly dark grey.

The men drove off in a white van, possibly a Citroen Berlingo with red livery on the side.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 73s of 5 September.
