STAFF at Redditch’s Hill Crest Ward are springing into action this winter with a day of fundraising to make the hospital a more comfortable place to stay.
On December 14, staff at the acute inpatient psychiatric treatment ward are hosting a Christmas Bounce alongside a raffle to boost funds and buy new equipment to benefit their patients.
Guests can come along and take part in the 24-hour bouncy-castle bounce to help raise funds for the 25-bed acute inpatient psychiatric treatment ward which provides therapeutic care and treatment to patients.
All money raised go towards buying gym equipment and musical instruments, refurbishing the ward’s sensory room and buying materials for staff to run activity groups as well as artwork to brighten up the wards.
A spokesperson for the event said: “Around one in four people will be affected by mental illness during their lifetime and hospitals can often be scary places for patients and relatives. We want to make this a little better.”
The bouncy castle has been donated by Matt Waddel at Bouncy Vending.
