STUDLEY businesses are preparing to welcome the Small Business Saturday Bus which is making a special stop in the village on Wednesday, November 8.

Local networking forum, Studley in Business has invited the bright blue single decker to the village as part of its annual Small Business Saturday tour.

The bus is currently on a 29 stop nationwide journey, playing host to numerous activities, workshops and exhibitions.

The bus travels with an equally brightly coloured blue sofa where small business owners can be interviewed about their trade or service.

These are then streamed live on Facebook to promote the businesses to followers of the Small Business Saturday page.

The bus will be at the Studley Co-op car park on Wednesday, November 8 from 2.30pm to 4pm and Studley in Business will be inviting their 36 members to go along and promote their service at the gathering.

There will be several slots available for interviews on the blue sofa.

During the visit group will also officially launch their community project ‘Studley on the Map’ – a four month campaign to raise £36,000 via crowdfunding to buy new co-ordinated signage and a community website – designed to inspire more visitors and residents to stop and shop locally and spend more leisure time in the village.

Chairman of Studley in Business, Shohaib Shafiq said: “We are honoured that the Small Business Saturday Bus will be stopping in Studley! This is an invaluable opportunity for our members to engage in the national Small Business Saturday campaign to highlight the importance of shopping and using professional services locally.

“We founded Studley in Business to encourage local business networking and to help put our village on the map – we think that taking part in a national business bus tour is certainly a sign that we are achieving those aims!”
