A COMMUNITY car-clean in Redditch this weekend is raising money for projects helping youngsters in the area to make good life choices.
The fundraising event this Saturday (November 4) at the TRICO Stadium, home of Redditch United Football Club will raise funds for projects run by the club, as it continues to encourage young people to make good choices and stay away from crime.
TRICO, a leading supplier and OEM manufacturer of wiper blades, has pledged its support for The Reds once again by lending its services to the day of fundraising and gift-giving.
Between 10am and 12.30pm, people parking at the stadium can get a free car wash from those involved with the community project. Staff from TRICO will also be on hand to perform a quick wiper blade safety check – and if they deem wipers need replacing, will be done so free of charge.
Redditch United General Manager, David Tittershill, said: “We are passionate about this community scheme, as we know that it is important that young people feel included and valued in our society. This project is doing just that and has worked wonders since day one in keeping the community safe and enjoyable for everyone.”
Sports Partnership: Herefordshire and Worcestershire, a not-for-profit organisation, which aims to get the two counties healthier and more active, will also be attending along with local police, who will be getting their cars washed while being on-hand to offer advice.
Youth Engagement Officer at Sports Partnership, Ruth Jones, added: “The Reds team came up with the idea for a car wash in the aim of supporting their club and bringing the community closer. We can’t wait to get stuck in and we thank TRICO for lending its help to us for this fundraiser.”
After the event, people are encouraged to stay and watch the Redditch United’s match against Merthyr Town.
