MEMBERS of Bromsgrove and Redditch Soroptimists are mourning the death of former member Nancy Doyle (Hannah Bridged Doyle).
Nancy (nee O’Sullivan) was a leading and popular figure in the nursing profession locally, rising to become the Director of Nursing at the Alexandra Hospital.
She later left to open The Nancy Doyle Clinic in New Road, Bromsgrove and went on to play an active role in empowering women.
And active member of the Soroptimists, she recently moved to Ireland following the death of her husband Malcolm.
During her many years as a Soroptimist she had held office as Club and Region President as well as Federation Councillor.
Nancy was always active at raising money for charities dear to her heart tackling challenges as diverse as wing walking to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
She was also a great advocate of screening for breast cancer.
Gail Teague from the Soroptimists said: “Her sense of fun experience and knowledge will be sadly missed by all who knew her.”
Nancy, originally from Killarney in Ireland, died on November 1, 2017 and her funeral was in Cork City on November 6, 2017.
