Celebrating Rev David’s life in Beoley

Redditch Editorial 10th Nov, 2017   0

A SERVICE to celebrate the life of a much loved former Beoley vicar is planned at the church where he served for more than 20 years.

The late Rev Canon David Rogers, who was the vicar at St Leonard’s Beoley for more than 20 years, died recently, aged 69, just days after being diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour.

A service to celebrate David Rodgers’ life is being held at St Leonard’s Beoley this Sunday, November 12 at 6pm.

Rev Rogers served as curate in Astwood Bank with Crabbs Cross from 1975-79 and after a time as vicar in Cradley Heath came to St Leonard’s in 1990.

He was Rural Dean of Bromsgrove from 2000 to 2006 and team rector of Holy Trinity Parish incorporating St Stephen’s in the town centre, Webheath, St George’s and Tardebigge.

After his retirement in 2013, he continued to minister at St Martin’s in Worcester.
