Redditch students get some top career advice

Redditch Editorial 26th Nov, 2017   0

STUDENTS at a Redditch school were given some top notch careers advice which showcased more than forty experts and businesses.

Trinity High School ran its annual Careers Fair on November 9 and the school were joined by Jenny Wheeler, Mayor of Redditch.

With more than 40 exhibitors at the fair, including local businesses, universities and colleges, apprenticeship schemes, NHS, Police and armed forces, students had ample opportunity to find out more about a wide variety of career options.

Mrs Laxton, the school’s Information, Advice and Guidance officer had organised the event, which is now in its third year.

Mayor Wheeler is herself from an educational background, firstly being a mainstream teacher, moving into leadership and then teaching students with learning difficulties.

She said: “it is so very important for children to be able to obtain all of this information so that they are able to make the right career choices for their futures.

“Well done to the school for organising such a fantastic event which has been tailored to the needs of the students and will support these young people greatly.”
