A STUDLEY funeral directors, which has been in the village for 72 years, will be better-placed to offer its services to more people after striking a deal with a similar family firm from Bromsgrove.
A Dyer and Sons has been incorporated into James Giles and Sons and a new premises at 26 to 28 Studley High Street has also been opened as part of the agreement.
Ray Giles from the company, which has been operating in Bromsgrove and the surrounding areas for more than a century, said: “The two families will work together to serve the communities of Studley, Alcester, Redditch, Wythall and Henley.
“We feel it is important to keep the A Dyer and Sons name going and Christine and Tracy from the firm will be very much involved as we take the business forward and enhance its operations.
“Ours is a family firm, just like A Dyer and Sons, so we are fully aware of the company’s ethos and the best ways of offering the services we provide.”
As part of the deal the A Dyer and Sons, which was formally based in Alcester Road, will also be fleeted with James Giles and Sons’ Jaguar limousines.
