A DROP-IN advice event for keeping warm and saving money is returning to Redditch next week.
Redditch Borough Council is once again bringing partners together at the town centre library to offer heating and energy to help people have a warmer winter.
Act on Energy will be there giving advice on energy bills, how to get grant funding for loft and cavity wall insulation and replacing old, inefficient boilers. Age UK will be offering home energy checks and other advice, and NEW Lifeline will represent the community alarm service for vulnerable people and their families.
The county’s fire service will be offering advice on home fire safety and Care and Repair Worcestershire will be offering tips on how to get help for essential home repairs.
Councillor Mark Shurmer, whose portfolio covers Housing, said: “As winter sets in and temperatures drop, the Warmer Winter programme is as relevant as ever.
“Last year we saw some people save as much as £200 a year off their energy bills. Why not come and see what could be available to you?”
The event is on Thursday December 7 from 9.30am until 1pm.
Anyone wanting help in switching energy suppliers to save money should bring along a recent energy bill.
If you can’t make the event but want advice on energy saving call Act on Energy on 0800 988 2881 or email [email protected].
