Thousands flock to see Redditch artists in the frame

Redditch Editorial 8th Dec, 2017   0

MORE than 3,000 people visited the Arts in Redditch pop-up gallery over its ten day exhibition.

Held in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre by WH Smiths the show featured 447 works of art created by 50 local artists, many displaying their work for the first time.

Prices were very attractive and shoppers like what they saw too, with the cash tills ringing as they snapped up original pieces to give as gifts or hang in their own homes.

Approximately 25 per cent of the works were sold bringing raising a total of £5,300 for the artists, which will be used to fund their hobby while a small commission on sales will go to support other Arts in Redditch activities.

Spokesman Philip Roberts said: “ All in all, we were delighted with this, our eighth ‘op-up gallery, and thanks go once again to the Kingfisher Shopping Centre for their support.”
