Update on household waste collections in Redditch

Ross Crawford 13th Dec, 2017   0

REFUSE crews are out collecting household waste in Redditch this morning (Wednesday, December 13) but council chiefs say they may be slower than normal due to icy footpaths in some areas.

They say if you were due a Tuesday collection, still leave your bins out in a safe place and they will endeavour to get it emptied during the course of the week.

For bulky waste the service is running as normal.

As with household waste, if you were due a Monday or Tuesday collection crews will endeavour to return to you during the course of the week.

A spokesperson said: “Crews will be working hard to catch up so thank you for your patience during these adverse weather conditions.

“We would like to apologise for the disruption to waste collection services due to the poor weather.

“We will be assessing the situation throughout the day so look out for further updates.

“Refuse vehicles can weigh up to 26 tonnes and are much bigger than most household delivery vehicles, it is essential that we do not drive on roads when drivers make a judgement that it is not safe to do so.”
