A GOLDEN opportunity is on the menu for 50 lucky Redditch children this week – and the chance to visit Santa Claus too.
A special festive visitor is heading to Winyates Chippy and the Golden Carp Chippy next week – and youngsters wishing to meet Father Christmas himself can head to the award-winning eateries in Winyates on Tuesday, December 19 and Matchborough on Wednesday, December 20.
From 6pm until 7.30pm, the first 50 youngsters through the door will receive a gift – and hidden inside one is a special golden ticket. The golden prize – an idea cooked up by chip shop owner Theo Ellinas to say thank you to his loyal customers – can be exchanged for a slap-up fish and chip supper for the winner’s whole family.
The Golden Carp Chippy was named the best Worcestershire chip shop for the second year in a row, and is one of the UK’s top 20 fish and chip shops in the 2018 National Fish & Chip Awards.
The two shops were visited by Father Christmas last week, and despite the ice and snow, a lot of local children managed to meet him and enjoy some of Theo’s award-winning food at the same time.
