Avoid a cat-astophe this Christmas - advice for pet owners in Redditch

Redditch Editorial 18th Dec, 2017   0

CAT owners in Redditch are being reminded that the festive period can be a stressful time for our feline friends.

However, the UK’s leading feline welfare charity, Cats Protection’s have compiled some top-tips to keep our cats feeling chipper this Christmas.

The advice warns that decorations and pine needles can be dangerous to cats if broken or nibbled, so it’s best to keep cats away from trees when alone, especially glass baubles, tinsel or ‘angel hair’.

Sparkling lights and candles can also be hazardous, and holly, ivy and mistletoe are potentially toxic to cats so keep them out of the cat’s reach. Open fires should be screened and cats should always be supervised around open flames.
