OUR NHS Worcestershire is holding a demonstration outside the Alexandra Hospital tomorrow, Saturday, for the National Health Service – and everyone is invited to go along and lend their support.
Organiser Jimmy Morris-Knight said the group would be gathering at 11am off Quinneys Lane on Woodrow Drive by the hospital.
“The reasons for this demonstration are numerous and quite glaring, especially here in Worcestershire,” said Mr Morris-Knight.
“Our NHS is in crisis year after year and the problems are getting worse every time with cuts and staff shortages.
“In addition this Trust is particularly dysfunctional and we are looking for leadership at both a local and a national level from our Members of Parliament.”
The action is being coordinated across the county with similar demonstrations planned for Worcestershire Royal and Malvern, Kidderminster, Tenbury Wells and Evesham hospitals.
“Rachel Maclean MP said Redditch deserves better and she is absolutely right. It deserves a better MP and it deserves a better government that is going to meet the needs of the NHS,” said Mr Morris-Knight.
“She has made almost a dozen assurances about the £29.6million that should be coming to the Trust – that’s practically one every month. There are massive funding gaps and staff leaving the service – what is she doing to get that money?” added Mr Morris-Knight.
