Online route to book your next doctor's appointment in Redditch

REDDITCH health bosses are reminding patients they can access a range of primary care services online.

GP Online Services lets patients book or cancel appointments online with a GP or nurse; request repeat prescriptions; view parts of GP records and view clinical correspondence such as hospital discharge summaries, outpatient appointment letters and referral letters.

The service runs alongside traditional accessing services which means patients who cannot access the service, or who do not want to join up, can still call or visit their surgery to book appointments and request repeat prescriptions as usual.

Dr Carl Ellson of the GP-led Clinical Commissioning Groups for Worcestershire said: “Many patients are already benefiting from the convenience of making an appointment at any time day or night, or requesting a repeat prescription without having to visit their surgery.

“Having access to their GP records also means that people are in more control of their health and wellbeing. This is particularly helpful for people who are living with a long-term health condition such as diabetes that needs regular checking and frequent prescriptions.

“Freeing up the phone lines also makes it easier for patients who don’t want to use GP Online Services to get through by phone.”

All you need to do to register is take two forms of ID along to your practice and speak with the receptionist, you can still book your appointments in person or via your GP’s phone line.
