COUGHTON COURT’S annual Jigsaw festival is returning for its fifth year from April 25 through to Sunday, April 29, writes Daniel Cooke.
Over the last five years the team at Coughton has managed to collect thousands of jigsaws and raise nearly £20,000 for vital conservation projects at the National Trust site.
The current project to rewire the whole mansion is one of the largest conservation operations to be carried out at Coughton Court and many other jobs are also being undertaken, including installing new alarms and detectors in order to improve defences against fire without substantially effecting the look of the house.
Marketing and events manager Abi Cole said: “Looking after our home and conserving it for future generations is very important to us here at Coughton and the work that has been carried out wouldn’t be possible without supporters like you giving through membership, admissions, the restaurant and shop, and donations.
She appealed to any residents who had jigsaws taking up precious space in their cupboards to donate them to the cause to help preserve the house for future generations to enjoy.
To donate jigsaws, call 01789 400777 or drop them into the visitor reception on an open day.
The festival is open between 11am and 5pm and entrance to the festival is included in the admission price.
