Redditch Editorial 10th Apr, 2018   0

A MEDIA student from Redditch has received a nomination for the Royal Television Society’s Young People’s Film Festival.

Lucy Goddard, aged 18, is one of five student film directors from Stratford-upon-Avon College to have been selected.

All five were nominated across a range of categories, celebrating achievements including narrative directing and documentary filmmaking.

Lucy’s film, a music video, is called ‘These Four Walls’ and was chosen in the Best Entertainment Film.

As part of a College assignment, the gifted filmmakers were tasked with producing a short film and then submitting it to the Young People’s Film Festival.

A two-minute clip of each nominated film will be screened at the ceremony, in Sunderland on Wednesday, May 16, before the winning film in each category is screened in its entirety.

The winning students will be presented with a commemorative certificate on the night, and the College will receive a trophy.

Joining Lucy will be Toby Jones, aged 17 from Swalcliffe, Ellie Coombes, 18 from Stratford, Ingo Lyle-Goodwin, 18 from Banbury, and Joe Monaghan, 19, also from Stratford.
