Post Office goes mobile after beam blues delay branch re-opening

A MOBILE Post Office service will operate in Alcester due to unforeseen delays in relocating the town’s Post Office branch.

The hold-up is due to special permission being required to fit a structural beam in the new premises, 30 High Street, as the shop is in a conservation area.

The new-look office had been expected to re-open on April 26, however this has now been re-scheduled to May 10.

In the meantime from today, Friday, April 20, and every Friday, a mobile service will operate from 2pm to 4.30pm until work is completed.

It will be sited in the Bulls Head Yard car park, Alcester, B49 5DL.

Stratford District Council, which operates the car park, will cone off three car park spaces outside Salon No.8 for the mobile.

Other Post Office branches in the area include:

* Studley Post Office, 33 – 35 Alcester Road, Studley, B80 7LL

* Astwood Bank Post Office, 2-4 Feckenham Road, Astwood Bank, Redditch, B96 6DS.
