ALVECHURCH Football Club is appealing for local charities to come down and be a part of its summer fun day, writes Tom Banner.
The event on Saturday, May 19 will be an ‘old fashioned summer fete’ with the Royal Wedding and the FA Cup Final to be shown on a big screen.
Between the two, there will be stalls and events such as bring and buy, tombola and penalty shootouts, as well as a mini-soccer tournament, crossbar challenge and races for boys and girls.
Fred Evans, from the club’s social committee, said: “I remember the good old days of summer fetes and we want to make this a great day for kids and adults.
“We are hoping to use this as a celebration of our possible second promotion, as well as getting the community together and raising money for some good causes and charities.
“Anyone who wants to raise some money for charity should get in touch and see about setting up a stall.”
The event will be free to attend and hosting a stall will also be free of charge. For more information, contact Fred Evans on 07970 824986 or Steve Denny on 07710 012733.
