PUPILS at Webheath Academy rubbed their eyes in amazement on Thursday when they clapped eyes on the Premier League trophy, right there in their school.
The trophy, contested by teams in the finest football league in the world, was there after Year 3 teacher Alison Preece, who subscribes to Premier League Sports, won a prize draw.
The visit, supported by the West Bromwich Albion Foundation and featuring Hawthorns mascot Baggie Bird, was aimed at inspiring children to take up sport.
They duly enjoyed a coaching session and a personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) lesson.
“The children were absolutely in awe – it was a huge surprise for them,” said Alison.
Dressed in football kit, they then had their photos taken with the cup before going out for a run around to really enjoy sport.
