THE historic Feckenham Village Wake returns on June 23 in The Square offering an exciting mix of family activities.

The medieval-themed event has become a regular fixture in Feckenham with its origins dating back to the 13th Century.

Julian Bull, member of the Feckenham Wake Committee, said: “It’s become tradition for many, many years.

“We are on course to welcome between 1,500 and 2,000 people on the day.

“Entry is free and the majority of attractions will only charge £1 or £2.”

Lots for children to do is promised with old favourites Punch and Judy performing, a bouncy castle and a climbing wall.

The Second Best Bed Theatre Company will be walking around entertaining guests with pop-up Shakespeare, Tudor style face painting and dress-up.

The Classic Car Show is also back with the addition of some magnificent old bicycles for people to marvel at.

This will be followed by a Grand Draw and Duck Race.

Finally the popular attraction – ‘Fun Dog Show’ – will return and promises to deliver great prizes for people with ‘handsome dogs’.
