A NEW community cafe has opened in Redditch town centre, with the aim of providing provide support for anyone over 18 who has been involved in foster or social services, writes Ellen Heaselgrave.

But Project leader and owner of Rees Cafe, Polly Jones, stressed it was not just a place for people involved in foster care.

“We are a safe space for anyone in the community to relax. We are a non-profit organisation and really want to encourage as many people as possible to come and visit us,” she said.

Almost everything in the Church Road cafe has been donated by other charities or companies, from the chairs and tables to the expensive coffee machines.

Rees Cafe also runs a small charity shop in the back of the building which sells clothes and goods.
