A SPECIAL gift was presented to the Mayor of Redditch to mark 25 years of twinning with a town in Northern France.
Councillor Roger Bennett, Deputy Mayor, visited Gruchet-le-Valasse where he was presented with a painting by French dignitaries to mark the anniversary.
At last night’s Council meeting Coun Bennett recalled his trip and handed the painting to Redditch Mayor Coun Juliet Brunner.
Following the meeting the Mayor said: “What a fantastic gesture from our French counterparts and I will ensure it is displayed prominently for everyone to enjoy.
“I was saddened that I couldn’t make the trip myself to receive this wonderful gift and I thank Coun Bennett for standing in as my deputy.”
