GET in the groove and hit top note at a new weekly musical evening session at the Redi Centre in Ipsley Street by the town centre.
Aimed at young people aged ten to 19, it’s being organised by Redditch Youth and Community Enterprise, and all you need to take part of enthusiasm, ambition and a willingness to have a go.
“The evening is run entirely by our two resident professional musicians, Leroy Mentos and Tyrone Clarke, and their offering instrument tuition, sound editing and production,” said Ray Groves from the Redi Centre.
“You don’t need to be able to play the instruments, Leroy actually teaches guitar while Tyrone plays the drums, and hopefully by the end of it we will hopefully have some accomplished musicians.”
It means Friday night is make a noise night and the plan is to run the sessions until July 27 with an extension beyond if interest is high.
“The Redi Centre provides a safe environment enabling young people to learn and experience the many choices available in the music industry, from performing to music studio production,” added Ray.
The centre has also benefited from an Awards for All grant which has enabled it to buy its own drums, guitars and keyboards as well as set up its own recording studio.
