Step out as TV star urges residents to beat bowel cancer with a stroll

TV presenter and walking enthusiast Julia Bradbury is encouraging local residents to join Bowel Cancer UK’s Walk Together this summer to save lives and improve the quality of life of everyone affected by bowel cancer.

The charity is asking people to organise a sponsored walk in the local area sometime in September.

“Every year nearly 42,000 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK, including my mum who thankfully is now recovered,” said Julia, who is patron of Bowel Cancer UK.

“Physical activity plays an important part in stacking the odds against a bowel cancer diagnosis.

“It’s also a lovely way to bring everyone together affected by the disease from all ‘walks’ of life!”

Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK, and yet it is treatable and curable, especially if diagnosed early.
