MORE than 400 people recently attended a charity football match played to celebrate the life of 19-year old Ollie Sellers, who was killed in a car crash in 2017.
Family, friends and strangers turned up to Redditch United’s Trico Stadium on Bromsgrove Road to watch the game.
Together they managed to raise more than £4,000 for the charity ‘Brake’ which works to help prevent road tragedies and supports people who have been left bereaved and injured.
Ollie was driving back from work on the A4023 Coventry Highway in Redditch, when a car coming from the other direction crossed the carriageway and hit Ollie’s car.
Since then the Redditch teenager’s family have petitioned to have barriers installed along the road.
Ollie’s dad, Paul Sellers, said: “It was fantastic watching the memorial game which was mostly made up of Ollie’s old team mates.
“It was such a special day, thanks to everyone who turned up.”
