A BETTING shop in Redditch town centre has been closed down after a water leak from a flat above caused the the ceiling to fall through.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called out to the Ladbrokes at the top of Unicorn Hill at 9.58am today.
A spokesperson for the Fire Service said: “We managed to isolate the water leak and inform the property owners, who weren’t there at the time, about the incident.
“No one was hurt.”
West Bromwich Building Society next door to the Ladbrokes was also left damaged but not as badly as the bookies.
Ladbrokes will remain closed for now but will be back ‘open as soon as possible’ according to a note left on its front door.
