A PEPSI-MAX challenge is taking place in the Kingfisher Centre all day today, Thursday, August 23, giving visitors the chance to try free samples of Coca-Cola and Pepsi to finally settle which one has the best flavour.
Representatives for Pepsi MAX are so confident in the taste of their product that they are bringing rival fans together for blind-folded tasting test.
Participants will sip two glasses of unbranded cola and then be asked which one they prefer.
Hopefully you’ll be able to do better than us, after Standard editor Ross Crawford and colleagues Harry Leach and Yixuan Wu identified Coca Cola as having the better taste.
Mark Kirkham, Head of Marketing and Innovation at Pepsi, said: “We’re excited to introduce a new version of our famous Pepsi Taste Challenge.
“When it comes to favourite cola brands, most fans think they already know where their loyalty lies.
“The Pepsi MAX Taste Challenge is designed to challenge those preconceptions and surprise and delight those who discover a new favourite cola taste.
“With just two sips, we are confident we will convert more people to our product.”
Once all results are recorded, Pepsi will be able to finally reveal which cola company comes out on top.
