Dumped dog sparks call for owners to seek help if caring costs too much

PET-owners who find themselves in over their heads are urged to phone Worcestershire’s Dog Wardens after a neglected stray, in an awful condition, was recently picked up.

Chantilly, a Shar-Pei, had been neglected and unloved for a long time with legs so filled with fluid that she could hardly walk.

Luckily she was picked up and taken to the vets used by Worcestershire Regulatory Services’ (WRS) Dog wardens, but still has a long road ahead to full recovery because of the amount of medical problems she has.

Dog Warden and Animal Welfare Officer Pip Singleton said: “Chantilly has such a kind soul and is so well-behaved despite the horrific treatment and neglect she has suffered.

“It really is beyond me how people can do this to another living being.

“All I can think of is that the costs of keeping this beautiful creature got too much so they chose to ignore her rather than seeking help.”

WRS Duty Officers are on hand to help if you can’t cope with your pet. Call the team on 01905 822799.
