Dig this - Studley Allotments Garden to boost mental health unveiled

Redditch Editorial 22nd Sep, 2018   0

THE Studley Allotments Garden has been officially opened.

The project, designed to boost mental health wellbeing and to get people with dementia back in touch with the soil, features raised beds for flowers and veg and areas to relax too.

It’s been driven forward by local resident Eric Holder, himself an allotment holder at the Redditch Road site in Studley, who applied for grants and chivied for donations to get the project off the ground.

Help also came from County Councillor Clive Rickhards, former chairman of Warwickshire County Council, while local firms SE Davies, Claybank Landscaping and Tech That and helped out too.

The allotments, complete with toilet facilities for users are now near to completion and have already had their first visitors.
