REDDITCH Borough Councillor Pat Witherspoon has been mugged while on holiday in Tenerife.
Coun Witherspoon, who represents Church Hill ward and is is also chair of Redditch Older People’s Forum, escaped unhurt from the attack although her phone was stolen.
She and her husband John had only been on the Spanish island for a day when the incident happened.
Her colleague and Labour Leader coun Bill Hartnett said: “The main thing is that she is safe – she said she was a bit shocked and shaken but fit and well.”
