REDDITCH-based Forthright Theatre are staging three advice cafes next week where people can find out more about money management and debt.

The work is being supported by the Santander Foundation and is being staged in association with Redditch Aspiring Communities Hub (REACH CIC) along with support from the Kingfisher Shopping Centre and The Rees Cafe on Church Road.

People will be able to enjoy a cake and a cup of tea or coffee and receive advice on dealing with debt and managing their money effectively.

Visitors will also be able to hear real stories of people who have been affected by debt and poor money management, all voiced by actors.

They will be in Worcester Square in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre on Tuesday, April 30 from 11am to 3pm.

The Space, Winyates Centre on Wednesday, May 1 from 11.30am to 3.30pm.

The Rees Cafe on Thursday, May 2, from 11am to 3pm.

“We have run a number of these advice cafes and always get positive feedback with attendees. Engaging with survivors stories seems to encourage the listener to realise their situation and seek help,” said Andy Higgitt director of Forthright Theatre.

“It helps them realise that others have made similar mistakes, and that they are not alone,” he added.

Forthright Theatre is the producing arm of Jestaminute Community Theatre CIC a social enterprise whose objectives are to ‘to use performance and media arts to enhance the life and well being, and to enhance social cohesion of the residents in the Midlands’.
