Father and son set to climb Snowdon for Redditch Association for the Blind

A YOUNG boy and his father will climb Snowdon this month in aid of Redditch Association for the Blind (RAB).

6-year-old Church Hill resident Ethan Holliday has been fascinated with climbing the highest mountain in Wales – some 3,559ft – with his dad Dan, for most of his life.

Dan said: “We have discussed it many times but now that Ethan is old enough, on May 25 we will finally do it, along with my brother Jason.

“When I asked Ethan which charity we should raise money for, he told me to choose RAB because its users don’t get the chance to see Snowdon themselves.”

At a recent RAB event the pair spoke to the minds behind the charity and told them all about their mission to the top.

Ethan was presented with a small model of Snowdon, as a gift, which he plans to have a picture with once at the peak of the mountain in Snowdonia National Park.

They also met the current Mayor of Redditch, Juliet Brunner, at the event.

She said: “I think what they’re doing is fantastic and I wish them all the best.”

The company Dan works for, Integrate IT Solutions LTD, has promised to match the first £200 donated on his JustGiving page.
