A YOUNG girl from Redditch had her long locks chopped off last weekend in aid of the Little Princess Trust.

Six-year-old Miley Razgauskiene donated 16 inches of her hair to the charity which makes wigs for children who have lost their own hair through cancer or other illnesses.

Mum Lina, who lives in Winyates, said: “I’m very proud of Miley. We have thought about doing something like this for years.

“When Miley was younger it took a long time for her hair to grow.

“We always said when it finally did we would donate it to those who need it most.

“She was nervous leading up to it but she soon started to get excited.”

Lina has also set up a Just Giving page to raise money for Bimingham Children’s Hospital Charity (BCHC).

A spokesperson for BCHC said: “We believe there’s always more we can do for our children.

“It’s our mission to raise the vital funds needed to make a real difference to those using the hospital.”

Mappleborough Green Primary school pupil, Miley, had her hair cut at the school’s fundraising event last Saturday, May 18.

“A parent at the school cut Miley’s hair,” said Lina, “She’s a fantastic hairdresser.”
