POSTAL worker Mark Whitworth braved the shave last week to raise money to combat prostate cancer.
Mark, from Batchley, started growing a beard back in October after finding himself in the Alex for a knee operation.
“A few people at work have had prostate cancer and survived and I’ve had friends who died as a result of complications from the cancer,” said the 58-year-old from Batchley.
The pledge saw him sit down at Bella Barba on Evesham Road, Crabbs Cross last Thursday in the capable hands of barber Haimer Alsohaini to get it all shaved off, although Mark insisted on keeping his moustache.
“It’s all for a good cause, to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life,” he said.
