BATCHELY Support Group is appealing for volunteers to help with the running of its new shop – which sells bags of high-quality food for as little as £3.
The vibrant ‘Community Pantry’ shop, located in the garden of the charity’s Salters Lane base, is designed to help those who are struggling to get by.
Trustee June Barley Said: “We decided to build on the success of our food share project by setting up the pantry.
“It sells high-quality meat, fish, cheese, vegetables, milk and various other food items which we haven’t always had available before.”
Large bags of food will cost £5 and smaller bags, although still containing several food items, will cost £3.
The shop will be open every Wednesday between 6pm and 7pm but those times may be extended if the shop proves to be popular.
Those wanting to visit will need to register with Batchley Support Group beforehand to prove they are in need.
You can do that by calling the group’s shared work phone on 07979314083.
