Photo and video tributes introduced at Redditch Crematorium

PHOTO and video tributes have been introduced at Redditch Crematorium for funeral services.

Upgrades to the facility mean families can now choose to have their own media displayed on screens as well as select their own music.

Family members who are unable to attend will also be able to watch a service privately online through a webcast.

Redditch Borough Council’s portfolio holder for environmental services, Coun Brandon Clayton, said: “We’re delighted to give people more choice in how they attend and remember their loved ones.

“People will be able to display cherished pictures or videos during the service, to help support the grieving process, which will allow for more personal tributes.”

The additions expand the range of funeral services and memorial options available at the award-winning crematorium, which provides a service not only to local residents but to people from further afield.

Leader of the council, Coun Matt Dormer, added: “Just because Redditch is in a central location doesn’t mean people aren’t faced with long travels, even across continents, to say their final farewell.

“That can be too much, and by putting this cutting edge technology at people’s fingertips we provide them with more choice.”
