REDDITCH students are celebrating after achieving First Class Honours degrees at the University of Worcester.
Tom Bowen, Jess Mason, Amy Petry and Anna Turner have all just completed their studies.
Tom, 21, from Headless Cross, earned his First Class Honours in Physical Education and Sports Studies.
The former Studley High School pupil said: “I am delighted to be leaving Worcester with a First Class Honours degree.
“To see my hard work pay off after three years is a proud achievement.”
Tom is now going on to train to be a secondary school teacher.
Jess, from Bradley Green, earned her First Class Honours in Computing.
“Initially I just felt relieved to know all the hard work had paid off, and since then, and I know its clichéd, just proud and really grateful for all the support from my lecturers and friends,” said the 22-year-old.
She has now started her first job as a software test engineer but plans to return to university in the future to do a Master’s degree and hopefully a PhD.
Amy, from Crabbs Cross, earned her First Class Honours in Mathematics with Computing.
“I am grateful that all my hard work, over the last three years, has been recognised,” said the 22-year-old. “I am proud of my achievements and I am thankful to everyone that has supported me.”
Amy, a former St Augustine’s High School pupil, said she is now hoping to become a maths teacher.
Anna Turner, from Greenlands, earned her First Class Honours in Social Work.
“I feel overwhelmed and proud of what I have achieved and thankful to my husband and friends for all their support,” said the 32-year-old.
“I have been very lucky to start my career in social work soon after completing my degree, and I look forward to establishing and developing my role over the years to come.”
